Job Description
An Ophthalmic Technician assists ophthalmologists in delivering eye care by performing various clinical and administrative tasks. They are responsible for taking patient histories, conducting diagnostic tests, and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist ophthalmologists in delivering eye care by performing clinical and administrative tasks.
- Take detailed patient histories and conduct diagnostic tests.
- Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of ophthalmic equipment.
- Handle patient charts and manage patient care efficiently.
- Adapt to a busy environment, managing upwards of 100 patients a day.
- Strong skills in ophthalmology and patient care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in diagnostic testing and handling patient charts.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification as a COA or COT is advantageous and can lead to higher compensation.
- Experience with Nextemp and camera equipment is a plus.
- A positive attitude and adaptability to different work settings.
The work environment is very busy, with multiple providers seeing upwards of 100 patients a day. Employees must be flexible to work at all three locations, with schedules provided one week in advance.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterford, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
