Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on General Manager to lead a growing aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operation. This role offers full operational ownership, requiring an individual who can step into the business, remove bottlenecks, and scale performance in a fast-paced, labor-constrained environment. You will be responsible for P&L performance, team development, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth, while fostering a strong culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Own full P&L performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Drive daily operations to meet customer commitments and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a working leader to solve problems, unblock production, and maintain throughput.
  • Identify and eliminate production constraints in a high-growth environment.
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 40–60 employees through supervisors.
  • Build structure in a less-experienced workforce through training, coaching, hiring, onboarding, cross-training, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145, RSM, QCM, and regulatory standards (FAA, EASA).
  • Act as the senior leader for audits, CAPA, and repair station operations.
  • Drive a strong 'zero harm' safety culture.
  • Ensure workforce qualification, certification, and documentation standards are met.
  • Support capacity expansion and operational scaling.
  • Collaborate with leadership on long-term growth, capital investment, and capability development.
  • Serve as a senior customer-facing leader for issue resolution and communication.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, supply chain, quality, and commercial teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 years of leadership experience in MRO, aerospace, manufacturing, or regulated environments.
  • Proven success leading teams through growth, change, and operational constraints.
  • Strong player-coach leadership style (comfortable being hands-on when needed).
  • Experience developing early-career or inexperienced teams.
  • Solid understanding of FAA/regulatory environments and repair station operations.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, Operations, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • FAA Repairman Certificate (preferred, not required).
