Operations Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee operations across two FedEx terminals in New Hampshire. This position exists to support the on-site operations managers at both locations and to ensure the business consistently meets all contractual requirements with FedEx. A company vehicle is provided to support travel between terminals.
The defining measure of success in this role is the ability to keep the business performing at the Gold level within FedEx's scoring system (Bronze, Silver, Gold). The right candidate is a strong leader who can step into any part of the operation when needed — from managing metrics and staffing to responding to incidents and, when required, moving packages or running a delivery route.
Key ResponsibilitiesContractual & Performance Standards
- Ensure the business meets all contractual requirements with FedEx, including but not limited to operational, safety, and service obligations.
- Drive and maintain FedEx performance metrics, including but not limited to:
- ILS (Local Inbound Service)
- Safety
- POD (Photo on Delivery)
- Monitor scorecard performance and take proactive action to maintain a Gold rating across both terminals.
Fleet & Equipment
- Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and service-ready.
- Source parts and coordinate repairs to maximize vehicle uptime and minimize downtime.
Team Support & Staffing
- Support the existing on-site operations managers at both terminals.
- Ensure proper staffing levels across the business.
- Partner with and support the existing recruiting teams to attract and retain qualified personnel.
Incident & Claims Response
- Serve as the first responder to accidents involving company vehicles or personnel.
- Manage communication and resolution with homeowners and other parties in the event of property damage claims.
Operational Coverage
- Be prepared to step into front-line operations when needed. While unlikely if all other responsibilities are being met, the Operations Manager should be willing and able to move packages and run a full delivery route to keep the operation on track.
Requirements
- Ability to drive a box truck.
- Ability to pass a 5-panel drug screen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Basic comfort with technology, including iPads, cell phones, and similar devices.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across two locations.
Physical Requirements
- Comfortable lifting and moving packages weighing over 60 pounds.
- Able to deliver 70 stops of packages in a day if required.
- Ability to travel between two terminal locations as needed.
