Key Responsibilities: - Lead mechanical design — Drive the mechanical design and development of helmets, hard parts, and related accessories from concept through production. - Develop detailed CAD models — Create robust 3D CAD models and assemblies that clearly communicate product function, design intent, and manufacturability. - Apply DFM/DFA principles — Ensure designs support high‑quality, cost‑effective production across a range of manufacturing processes. - Prototype and validate concepts — Build and test prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, thermoforming, silicone molding, resin casting, and other shop tools to evaluate performance and feasibility. - Design and execute test protocols — Create and run testing procedures using custom fixtures, sensors, and data‑acquisition tools to verify product performance. - Perform engineering analysis — Conduct material selection, mechanical loading, fatigue analysis, and tolerance studies to ensure reliability and durability. - Iterate using test data — Use test results and field feedback to evaluate, refine, and improve designs prior to launch. - Coordinate with suppliers — Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to support a smooth transition from development into mass production. - Collaborate cross‑functionally — Partner with industrial design, product management, sourcing, factory engineering, and other internal teams to align on performance targets, timelines, and brand goals. - Manage multiple projects — Balance hands‑on engineering work, documentation, planning, and communication while driving several projects forward simultaneously.
