Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the structural components department, focusing on large engine product development. This role involves designing and modeling various components that are cast or fabricated. The position requires proficiency in CREO for 3D modeling, Teamcenter for PLM, and Excel for various functions. You will collaborate with a team of 10 design engineers and work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine project time and cost feasibility.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably ME or MET.
- 3D modeling experience of products that will be machined or cast, with a preference for experience in CREO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work in a team environment with creativity and critical thinking.
- Strong skills in design, 3D modeling, new product development, engineering, and GD&T.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in castings design.
- Experience in engine component design.
- Previous experience with the company is a plus.
Work Environment
This position is based on-site five days a week in a cubicle environment alongside other team members. This is a Contract position based out of LAFAYETTE, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.
