Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and modeling various components that are cast or fabricated. Design and 3D modeling will be conducted using CREO, Teamcenter for PLM, and Excel for various functions.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.
- Investigate customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility of projects.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.
- Research and analyze the design, functionality, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET).
- 3D modeling experience, particularly with products that are machined or cast. Proficiency in CREO is highly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating creativity and critical thinking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other MS Office products like PowerPoint.
- Experience with mechanical design, particularly in castings or fabrication design.
Work Environment
This position requires you to work onsite five days a week, primarily at a desk in a cubicle environment alongside other team members. The team is a close-knit group that values collaboration and provides valuable training and development opportunities. You will have the chance to work with advanced technology such as 3D printing and the latest CAD design tools.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of LAFAYETTE, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
