Job Title: Cubing Specialist
Job Description
As a Measurement/ Cubing Specialist, you will be responsible for assembling test parts onto a nominally made aluminum car body, following the Product Description Manual (PDM). You will work closely with product auditors to evaluate and investigate the root cause of non-conforming components and assemblies. Additionally, you will organize meetings with internal customers to define countermeasures and establish long-term actions for identified issues.
Responsibilities
- Analyze parts and systems to determine root causes.
- Assemble, set up, and measure parts on the Meisterbock (Body in White master jig) and Cubing jigs.
- Review Meisterbock & Cubing assembly results with product auditors.
- Set meetings with internal customers to define countermeasures and long-term actions for identified issues.
- Document meeting minutes and action plans.
- Establish presentations and reports for analysis and review of measurements.
- Prepare CAD files for offline programming and product analysis.
- Measure parts in free state and on fixture using Faro arm and Zeiss CMM.
- Cross-check measurement results for plausibility.
- Support customers with evaluating measurement results.
Essential Skills
- Experience with Faro arm, vehicle launch programs, and statistical tolerance analysis.
- Proficiency with CMM (Zeiss) and optical scanners (preferably GOM).
- GD&T and measurement experience.
- Quality engineering skills.
- 3 years of measuring technology experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with 3D measurement equipment such as Faro and GOM.
- Understanding of statistical tolerance analysis and process capability studies.
- Proficiency in technical drawings, specifications, and functional dimensions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with measurement software (e.g., Metrology, Catia V5).
- Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, and written abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement corrective actions.
- Analytical, innovative, and conceptual thinking skills.
- Team player with social and cultural skills.
- Flexibility with travel and shift times.
- Understanding of coordinate systems and alignments.
Work Environment
The work environment is a temperature-controlled measurement laboratory located in a state-of-the-art facility.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chattanooga, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
