Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the technical aspects of manufacturing projects. This role requires expertise in aerospace manufacturing processes and the ability to manage and develop a team of engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong in engineering management, process validation, and product manufacturability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of manufacturing engineers, conduct performance evaluations, and set goals and objectives.
- Serve as the focal point for manufacturing technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and process validation.
- Evaluate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), processes, and master routers related to production hardware.
- Ensure manufacturability of detail parts, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies.
- Provide technical assistance between manufacturing and customer engineering.
- Assist in the initial manufacturing cycle of new parts and assemblies.
- Manage project and proposal timelines, working with relevant managers for any schedule changes.
- Monitor project progress, apply time standards, and analyze manufacturing variances.
- Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvement ideas.
- Perform and document component and system process analysis.
- Define and coordinate the design of tooling related to the process.
- Develop manufacturing processes based on company capabilities.
- Review production drawings for technical accuracy and make recommendations.
- Offer credible solutions to product, tooling, and process challenges.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or another Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of sheet metal, aerospace materials, processes, and industry standards.
- Experience with continuous improvement, Six Sigma, or Green Belt training.
- Ability to manage multiple customers and requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
- Knowledge of aircraft ECS ducting and related processes.
- Experience with Solid Works, NC programming, and AS400/MAPICs software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering or an MBA is a plus.
- Familiarity with forming, machining, cleaning, welding, and heat treating materials such as Titanium, Inconel, and Aluminum.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position with a typical work schedule of Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, with flexible starting hours between 6 am and 8 am. The role involves overseeing 5 manufacturing engineers in the fabrication department and a total team of 15 engineers, including 3 in planning. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
