Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Land Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This role involves the collection and analysis of survey field data using industry-standard equipment and software. The position is primarily field-based, offering the opportunity to work on innovative projects that make a real community impact.
Responsibilities
- Survey field data using industry-standard equipment and software.
- Review plans, maps, reports, and aerial imagery to support project planning.
- Assist with survey control and monument recovery, construction layout, utility data collection, and site documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of local and state surveying regulations.
- Strong CAD, computer, and math skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, judgment, and multitasking abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for job site and client visits.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience with a high school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Surveying preferred OR 5 years of experience in topographic, boundary, utility surveys, construction layout, and GPS.
- Experience with Carlson and similar software is a plus.
Work Environment
The role is primarily field-based, with approximately 90% of the time spent in the field and 10% in the office. The office follows a hybrid schedule with the expectation to be in the office or field at least two days per week. The Chicago office has a very high-energy, collaborative culture, consisting of approximately 45 employees. A company vehicle is provided for job site visits, and drive time is included. Travel may be required for up to a week at a time, typically no more than once per month, with per diem and reimbursements provided. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $97760.00/yr.
