Job Title: Lab Assistant - 3rd Shift

Job Description

This is an entry level role; no experience necessary. As a Lab Assistant on the 3rd shift, you will play a crucial role in supporting our laboratory operations by handling a variety of specimen-related tasks. This position involves pulling samples from storage or walk-in fridges, labeling and pouring specimens, and scanning samples into our tracking system. You will manage between 200-300 samples at a time and ensure the smooth processing of clinical lab specimens.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or enter data of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Comfort with handling human samples.
• Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Work Environment

This role operates on a contract basis with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position. The work schedule is Wednesday to Sunday, from 12:00 am to 8:30 am. Employees receive two paid fifteen-minute breaks and one unpaid thirty-minute break. You will spend a significant portion of your shift on your feet and may be required to lift and push 10-15 pounds. Part of the shift involves working in walk-in fridges, though rotations ensure you are not there for the entire shift. The position offers a supportive environment with excellent trainers and leadership, and successful performance can lead to promotion and a substantial salary increase.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
