This role supports specimen processing, equipment maintenance, and quality activities while adhering to safety regulations and PPE requirements.The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment while collaborating respectfully with coworkers and internal/external customers.Key ResponsibilitiesSort and receive laboratory specimens within the departmentPerform routine instrument maintenance on select equipmentCentrifuge specimens, print labels, record temperature data, and manage specimen storage/retrievalPrepare reagents and media as requiredPrepare specimens for testing, including worklists, aliquoting, clot/fibrin checks, inoculation, and slide preparationPerform assigned QA/QC duties and resolve pending listsLocate missing samples and decontaminate work areasConduct weekly radioactive wipe tests and maintain department recordsChange gas cylinders and dispose of biohazardous materialsUse laboratory computer systems and PCsComplete training and competency checklists as requiredThis list represents general duties and is not exhaustive.Skills & QualificationsRequired Skills:Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficientlyStrong attention to detail and ability to retain learned informationBasic computer skills and comfort using laboratory systemsAbility to follow safety regulations and PPE requirementsPreferred Skills:Medical assistant trainingPrior exposure to laboratory environmentsAdditional Skills:Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on courtesy and respectAbility to collaborate effectively with team members and customersEducation & ExperienceEducation: High school diploma or equivalent requiredMath and science coursework preferredExperience: No prior work experience requiredBenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the CompanyA leading provider of diagnostic information services, empowering healthier lives through data-driven laboratory insights.
