Flight Embedded Software Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity within our Flight Software Design Engineering group for a Missile Flight Software Engineer. This position is based in Huntsville, AL and involves developing requirements, designing, implementing, integrating, and testing missile-related embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess and develop requirements, design, implement, integrate, and test work products.
• Direct hands-on development of software for real-time and embedded missile systems.
• Collaborate daily with engineering and program management teams.
• Provide documentation and deliver technical presentations as required.
• Support the development, review, and editing of technical documents.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong embedded software development discipline.
• Proficiency in Embedded C/C programming.
• Experience working with custom hardware, reading schematics, and working with hardware designers.
• Resourceful self-starter capable of researching details of target processor hardware and interfaces.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• US citizenship is required.

• Experience with RTOS, ARM, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and Linux.
• Experience with Visual Studio IDE.
• Missile avionics flight code experience.
• Experience with software unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Technical task leadership experience.
• Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with configuration controls (GIT, Apache Subversion) and review tools (Jira, Crucible).
• Ability to present to customers and internal project teams.

This position is onsite in Huntsville, AL. We operate on a 9x80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. The role may require extended hours and travel to meet deadlines and increase project success probability. The work environment involves collaboration across departments and requires a customer-focused approach.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Huntsville, AL.

The pay range for this position is $81080.00 - $208505.00/yr.

Salary : $81,080 - $208,505
