Job Description:

Oversee the day-to-day management of the facility's physical plant and critical systems, including electrical distribution, HVAC, cleanroom environmental controls, Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), and security systems. Ensure all systems operate reliably and within required specifications, addressing any issues or alarms promptly.

Responsibilities

• Manage all building utilities and site infrastructure to guarantee uninterrupted support for production operations.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for all facility and production equipment.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility services, repairs, equipment calibration, and validation support.
• Ensure strict compliance with FDA regulations, cGMP, and USP 797/800 guidelines in all facility and equipment operations.
• Act as the facility subject matter expert during internal audits and external regulatory inspections.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of critical equipment, from installation and qualification to routine operation and decommissioning.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or 503b compounding sterile products.
• Proven track record of managing facility systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of cleanroom operations and environmental control systems.
• Familiarity with equipment qualification and validation processes.
• Strong understanding of FDA regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading facility expansion projects and cleanroom construction/upgrades.
• Demonstrated ability to scale operations and implement new technologies or systems.

Work Environment

The role is based in an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility in Albany, NY, specializing in sterile compounded medications for critical care settings. The company operates under strict cGMP and regulatory oversight. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, in a cleanroom environment. This is a startup environment, and the candidate will be the first hire in this role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
