Facilities Maintenance Technician: Job Description
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician at British American, we are looking for a dependable, full-time individual with strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and general building upkeep across our commercial portfolio. This position is essential to ensuring tenant satisfaction, operational reliability, and the overall appearance and performance of our properties. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks including lighting, painting, HVAC support, plumbing support (sink/toilet), door adjustments, temperature issues, and general building repairs
- Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs
- Complete service and repair tasks as assigned
- Support grounds work including snow removal, salting, and shoveling
- Assist with furniture moving, cleaning tasks, deliveries, contractor oversight, construction support, and demolition
- Perform routine maintenance in accordance with established safety procedures
- Operate tools and equipment safely; basic training provided where necessary
- Ability to work outside in poor weather when required
- Complete timesheets daily
- Participate in mandatory weekly safety meetings
- Follow dress code and maintain professional appearance
- Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, contractors, and tenants
- Provide customer-service-oriented support when interacting with tenants
