Job Description
A leading construction technologies company seeks an estimator to perform takeoffs on multiple projects each week. The role involves understanding project scope, especially in security and low voltage systems, and utilizing Excel and other takeoff software to prepare bids.
Responsibilities
- Conduct takeoffs on multiple projects weekly, focusing on security systems and low voltage systems.
- Present yourself in a client-facing role and maintain professionalism.
- Utilize Excel and specialized takeoff software for bidding processes.
- Work independently while understanding the project scope and requirements.
- Perform piping calculations and estimate piping lengths.
- Collaborate closely with the project coordinator who handles material orders and purchasing.
- Prepare 3-5 estimates per week and interface with clients over any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with vendors and other contractors to obtain pricing information.
- Proficiency in low voltage systems and reading blueprints.
- Experience in estimation, construction, and electrical work.
- Strong mathematics skills and ability to use estimating software.
- Effective client interfacing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience in bidding and takeoff processes.
- A background in construction management is preferred but not required.
- Experience with commercial projects, both public and private.
- Knowledge of systems used in the industry, such as those from Schneider Electric.
The position requires working on-site or in the office five days a week. The work involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including clients and vendors, to ensure projects progress smoothly from inception to completion.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morristown, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
