Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Electrical Technician to support automotive system development and troubleshooting in a dynamic startup environment. This role involves working directly on vehicles and test benches to diagnose electrical issues, review schematics, and support wire harness development and hardware testing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a less structured setting and is eager to grow their skills in automotive electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve electrical issues in vehicles and test setups using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic tools.
- Execute electrical tests on vehicle systems and hardware components, document test results, and provide feedback to engineering teams.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics for boards and wiring diagrams, assist in verifying design accuracy, and identify potential issues.
- Support the build, modification, and installation of wire harnesses, perform continuity checks, and ensure proper routing and connections.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians to support vehicle builds and updates, and communicate findings and suggestions clearly and professionally.
- Operate effectively in a startup environment with evolving processes, taking initiative to organize tasks and solve problems independently.
- Troubleshooting abilities, including using vector canoe and flash.
- One year of experience in reading and understanding wiring diagrams and hardware schematics.
- One year of experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic tools.
- One year of experience in the automotive field.
- High school diploma or technical certification in electrical or automotive technology.
- 0–2 years of hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting or automotive systems.
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Familiarity with basic electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field (preferred).
- Experience working with wire harnesses or vehicle electrical systems (preferred).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, less structured environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturgis, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
