Job Description:
The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC machine programs to ensure efficient and precise machining processes. This role involves designing setups and fixture designs, developing work instructions for operators, and collaborating with engineers and machinists to enhance production efficiency. The CNC Programmer will play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards while minimizing waste and machine downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement CNC programs using Mastercam for various machining operations.
- Design and optimize fixture setups to ensure accuracy and efficiency in machining.
- Create detailed work instructions for operators, ensuring clarity and consistency in production.
- Troubleshoot programming and machining issues, making necessary adjustments to improve operations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to refine processes and enhance productivity.
- Maintain and update CNC programs as needed for new and existing products.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all machining processes.
- Perform machine trials and conduct test runs to verify program accuracy before full-scale production.
- Utilize SolidWorks for component design and modification when required.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in Mastercam for CNC programming.
- in fixture design and precision machining.
- Experience with SolidWorks for CAD modeling and design.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T symbols.
- Familiarity with various machining operations, including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
- Knowledge of tooling selection, feeds, and speeds to optimize material removal.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine and programming issues.
Additional Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a precision machining environment.
- Hands-on experience programming CNC machines for high-tolerance components.
- Understanding of materials, cutting fluids, and machining parameters for different applications.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including machinists and engineers.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-axis machining and advanced programming techniques.
- Knowledge of automation and integration of CNC machining with robotic systems.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or defense industry machining.
- Certification in CNC programming or machining processes.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $71032.00/yr.
