Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to manage and mentor a team of design engineers, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate will coordinate resources and schedules to meet project milestones and budget constraints while applying expertise in stormwater management, hydrology, hydraulics, grading, and earthwork to support site development designs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of design engineers to ensure high-quality project delivery.
• Coordinate resources and schedules to meet project milestones and budget constraints.
• Review and approve engineering designs, reports, and submittals.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, hydrology studies, and earthwork evaluations.
• Contribute to the development of specifications and project documentation.
• Liaise with municipalities and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and permit conditions.
• Provide engineering support throughout the construction phase, resolving field issues as needed.
• Exercise sound engineering judgment in selecting design alternatives and resolving technical challenges.
• Maintain high standards of quality and compliance throughout all phases of project execution.

Essential Skills

• 3 years of experience working on site/civil projects.
• Expertise in site development, grading, civil design, and land development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to manage and run projects independently.
• Experience with zoning review, permitting, drainage, and landscape design.
• Knowledge of zoning permits and drainage in Long Island and NYC.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holtsville, NY.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Holtsville,NY.
