Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Scientist who is willing to engage in a diverse range of projects and fieldwork assignments. This role involves providing support for site investigations and environmental inspections, both in the field and the office. You will assist staff in fieldwork tasks for ongoing projects throughout the five boroughs, prepare project planning documents, evaluate data, and prepare reports. The ideal candidate will work efficiently both individually and as part of a project team, ensuring that contractual and regulatory deadlines are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with fieldwork tasks for ongoing projects throughout the five boroughs.
• Prepare project planning documents, evaluate data, and prepare reports under the guidance of staff.
• Provide fieldwork and office support for site investigations and environmental inspections.
• Work efficiently individually and as part of project teams.
• Track and meet contractual and regulatory deadlines.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in fieldwork investigations and inspections.
• Experience with the MS Office Suite.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator License.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience working with clients and sub-contractors.

Work Environment

This field-based position involves working on projects throughout New York City and the five boroughs, with a focus on NYC Agency Projects.

You will be part of a team consisting of 10-15 Environmental Scientists and Inspectors, reporting to Environmental Scientists.

The role offers an engaging and fun culture with opportunities for growth, learning from staff, and working with a wide range of federal-level clients.

The office is located in Midtown, New York, and offers a dynamic environment with social activities such as happy hours and outings.

Additionally, any required certifications during the first week of training are covered.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $50.00/hr.
