Access II Independent Living Center is looking for a compassionate, motivated individual to join our team as an Employment Services Specialist. In this role, you'll help individuals with disabilities discover their strengths, overcome barriers, and achieve meaningful, competitive employment while maintaining independence.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing program that provides career planning, job development, job coaching, benefits planning, and ongoing employment support throughout northwest Missouri.
What You'll Do
- Meet one-on-one with individuals to identify employment goals and interests.
- Provide Career Planning and Benefits Planning services.
- Assist individuals with job searches, resumes, applications, and interview preparation.
- Build relationships with local employers to identify employment opportunities.
- Provide job coaching and ongoing employment support.
- Coordinate services with vocational rehabilitation, DMH, employers, families, and other community partners.
- Complete timely documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Travel throughout Access II's service area as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree is welcome but not required.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, employment services, case management, education, human services, or related fields preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Vocational Rehabilitation, Developmental Disabilities, or Supported Employment.
- Knowledge of Social Security disability benefits and work incentives.
- Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP), Work Incentive Practitioner (WIP-C), or willingness to obtain certification (training provided).
