Job Coach
Access II Independent Living Center is seeking a dependable and encouraging Job Coach to provide one-on-one workplace support to a young male working in a gym setting.
The Job Coach will work alongside the individual during scheduled work hours, helping him learn and complete assigned job duties, develop appropriate workplace habits, and become increasingly independent and successful in his position.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one job coaching in a gym environment.
- Assist the individual with learning and completing assigned job duties.
- Provide verbal prompts, demonstrations, and encouragement as needed.
- Help develop time management, task completion, and organizational skills.
- Reinforce appropriate workplace behavior, communication, and interactions with coworkers and supervisors.
- Encourage independence and gradually reduce assistance as skills improve.
- Communicate with Access II staff regarding progress, concerns, and support needs.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
Qualifications
- Patient, dependable, and encouraging.
- Comfortable working in a gym environment.
- Able to provide support while promoting independence rather than completing tasks for the individual.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is helpful but not required.
- Must meet Access II employment and program requirements.
