About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Wire EDM Specialist to program, operate, and maintain Wire EDM equipment, ensuring the production of high-precision components. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in CNC programming and blueprint interpretation to contribute to our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Translate engineering drawings and GD&T specifications into precise CNC programs for Wire EDM machines.
- Set up and operate Wire EDM machines to achieve tight tolerances and superior surface finishes.
- Select optimal wire types, guides, and power settings to maximize machining efficiency and quality.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts using precision measuring instruments, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve machine, programming, and process-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain meticulous records of production data, program revisions, and inspection results for traceability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical or trade school program is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in operating and programming Wire EDM machines.
- Solid understanding of CNC machining principles and electrical discharge machining (EDM) theory.
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting blueprints and applying GD&T principles.
- Familiarity with CAM software for CNC program development.
- Ability to consistently achieve tight tolerances.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in precision manufacturing environments.
- CMM inspection experience.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in programming complex contours and fine finishes.
