CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector

Duties

• Develop and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using software such as PC-DMIS to perform detailed dimensional inspections of machined parts and assemblies.
• Conduct comprehensive quality inspections utilizing precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other mechanical gauges.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD models created in SolidWorks or similar CAD software to verify part dimensions against design specifications.
• Apply knowledge of ASME codes & standards, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100 quality management systems to ensure compliance during inspection processes.
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of CMMs and other measurement tools to maintain measurement accuracy and reliability.
• Document inspection results meticulously, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings clearly with manufacturing teams for corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing inspection data, identifying trends, and recommending process enhancements aligned with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming CMMs with PC-DMIS or similar software; familiarity with Calypso is a plus.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and dimensional inspection techniques.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machining processes, tooling, CNC operations, and manufacturing workflows.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Familiarity with quality assurance standards including ISO 9001, AS9100 (aerospace), and relevant ASME codes & standards.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD models created in SolidWorks or other CAD platforms; experience with CAD/CAM integration is advantageous.
• Strong math skills for accurate measurement calculations and data analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough quality control checks in a fast-paced environment.
• Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, machining operations, schematics interpretation, and GD&T application is highly desirable. Pay: From $26.00 per hour
