Senior Health IT Project Specialist (Remote – NC Preferred)
The accel bi corporation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Health IT Project Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time, remote opportunity, with preference for candidates based in North Carolina (Research Triangle area) due to occasional travel requirements.
This role is ideal for a senior professional with deep expertise in Health IT, project leadership, stakeholder engagement, and vendor management, particularly within public sector or healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex Health IT initiatives across multiple stakeholders and agencies
- Provide strategic leadership across technical platforms, applications, and program operations
- Drive stakeholder engagement and cross-agency collaboration
- Oversee procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations
- Establish and track KPIs and implement continuous quality improvement processes
- Support onboarding of providers and manage technical/vendor support operations
- Ensure compliance with federal funding requirements and CMS regulations
- Contribute to policy analysis, system enhancements, and program strategy
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in project/program leadership and stakeholder engagement
- Strong background in Health IT, healthcare systems, or public health programs
- Experience with clinical data and/or Health Information Exchange (HIE) preferred
- Proven ability to manage complex initiatives independently
- Expertise in vendor oversight, procurement, and contract management
- 3 years of experience with federal funding compliance and CMS programs
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with government agencies or large public-sector programs
- Knowledge of health policy and healthcare program implementation
- Strong analytical skills with focus on performance metrics and process improvement
Work Location
- Remote (U.S. – North Carolina candidates preferred)
- Occasional travel (~once per month) may be required
