Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS / Java Developer with 8–10 years of software development experience and strong expertise in data modernization, cloud solutions, ETL development, and Java-based backend systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with technical and business teams to design, develop, test, and support modern cloud-native solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience with AWS services such as VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, Athena
- 7 years of hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate
- 5 years of experience with application modernization, including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development
- 5 years of experience with modern database technologies and database modernization strategies
- 5 years of experience with DevOps practices and automation tools
- Strong SQL skills including complex queries, debugging, performance tuning, and understanding database relationships
- 3 years of experience creating AWS ETL jobs and data pipelines for high-volume data
- 2 years of experience with data analytics / BI tools such as Power BI or AWS QuickSight
- Strong understanding of data modeling
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- AWS Certification required
- State Government experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define modernization strategies
- Design, develop, and test Java-based cloud-native applications
- Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines
- Analyze data models and business requirements
- Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Design, create, and execute test cases
- Conduct back-end testing and validate data processing logic
- Work closely with developers, analysts, and business teams
- Utilize AWS services within application architecture
- Develop, test, debug, and deliver solutions within timelines
- Participate in code reviews and follow security and coding best practices
- Monitor and optimize applications for performance, security, reliability, and cost
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively
