Our client is an alternative investment manager. They seek a Valuation/Portfolio Analyst to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze quarterly valuations for existing and new fund investments, including internally prepared and third-party valuations
- Generate performance analyses, variance summaries, KPI trackers, and reporting materials for senior management
- Apply valuation methodologies such as DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transactions to determine security values
- Validate quantitative and qualitative inputs, including historical performance, projections, deal terms, and market dynamics, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Interpret valuation drivers and clearly communicate insights and results to stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to address valuation-related inquiries and support reviews
- Monitor financial performance and industry trends, participating in lender calls and evaluating deal developments
- Coordinate with accounting and investment teams to enhance valuation processes and incorporate credit-specific updates
- Maintain valuation models and portfolio databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility
- Prepare quarterly valuation reports and presentations for the Board of Directors
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience
- Big 4/National company experience
- Financial services/alternative investment industry experience
- Valuations experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly analytical
