Our client is a private equity real estate firm. They seek a Property Accountant to join their Stamford, CT office.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting, forecasting, close processes, variance analyses, and issue resolution activities.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare financial statements and reporting packages in accordance with applicable accounting and tax reporting standards.
- Deliver financial analyses and reports to management, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate annual audits and collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Review operating and capital expenditures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper financial treatment.
- Administer lease-related financial activities, including tenant billings, reconciliations, and recoverable expense calculations.
- Manage indirect tax filings and related compliance requirements.
- Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and lease administration functions while maintaining adherence to internal policies and controls.
- Generate ad hoc analyses and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Requirements
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Commercial real estate experience required
- Open to a public accountant with real estate clients
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly analytical
- Yardi or MRI required
