Our client is a fashion company. They seek an Accounting Director to join their Brooklyn, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Create, document, and implement internal accounting policies, workflows, and internal controls aligned with industry best practices, GAAP, and the financial structure of the company
- Manage and optimize the company's COGS structure
- Establish and maintain departmental actuals versus budget tracking frameworks
- Direct the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
- Present financial results and KPIs, and provide actionable recommendations for strategic decision-making
- Perform regular gross margin reviews and identify risks and opportunities to improve profitability
- Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax requirements
- Partner with the Head of Finance to guide finance-related ERP needs and support cross-functional teams in the implementation of systems
- Build reporting tools and automated workflows
- Supervise AP, AR, inventory accounting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting operations
Requirements
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Public/private/combo experience
- Retail, consumer products, wholesale, manufacturing, or related industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of technology and ERP implementation
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
- Detail-oriented and highly analytical
- CPA is a preferred
