Our client is a consulting firm. They seek a Payroll Manager to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee payroll processing for multiple clients accurately and promptly
- Administer salaries, manage tax deductions, and handle benefits across multiple clients
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and best practices
- Collaborate closely with clients to gather payroll information and resolve inquiries effectively
- Assist clients with open enrollment and fulfill other HR-related requests
- Create new employer payroll tax accounts as required by different states
- Monitor compliance with payroll regulations and tax filings
- Implement and maintain payroll systems
- Facilitate client internal and external audits by providing records and timely documentation
- Uphold client confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Complete special payroll projects and initiatives as they arise
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in payroll admin and management
- Prior experience in a supervisory role is a plus
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations
- Strong client service orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Proficient in payroll software such as ADP, Gusto, Trinet, and Paycom
