Our client is an electrical, power, and lighting distribution company. They seek a Controller to join their Hauppauge, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in accordance with GAAP
- Direct daily accounting operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger while coordinating with Project Accounting
- Establish and maintain internal accounting controls and financial procedures while coordinating audits, tax filings, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Lead and develop accounting staff, setting procedures and performance standards
- Improve systems and processes by maintaining and enhancing standard operating procedures
Requirements
- 8-15 years of accounting experience
- Construction/project-based business experience is preferred
- Month-end close experience
- Experience managing a team
- Experience at a middle-market company
- CPA preferred
