Our client is an AM Law 100 firm. They seek a Business Development Manager to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main liaison for assigned practice groups, advising on marketing and business development initiatives
- Collaborate with practice leadership to plan and implement client development strategies
- Research potential clients and track outreach efforts, pursuits, and follow-up activities
- Coordinate with colleagues across teams to support cross-selling opportunities between practices and offices
- Develop customized proposals, presentations, and responses to client requests while managing timelines and coordination
- Maintain and update marketing materials, experience summaries, and client-facing content
- Prepare submissions for industry awards, rankings, and directories while working with internal communications teams
- Coordinate media opportunities, press releases, and thought-leadership initiatives with communications staff
- Organize sponsorships, speaking engagements, and conference participation to enhance visibility
- Plan and execute events such as webinars, client programs, and networking receptions while supporting onboarding and development needs for new partners
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5-7 years of relevant business development or marketing experience in professional services
- Law firm experience preferred
- Transactional experience required
- Excellent project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong presence, poise, and confidence when working with partners and senior professionals
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to producing accurate, high-quality work
