Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek an Audit Manager to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate multiple audit, review, and compilation engagements from start to finish, ensuring compliance with GAAP and GAAS
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, manage expectations, provide solutions to accounting issues, and identify opportunities for additional services
- Guide audit staff and seniors, providing timely performance feedback and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Direct the preparation and analysis of financial statements, evaluate internal controls, identify and mitigate audit risks, and ensure the quality and integrity of all audit work
- Conduct technical research on complex accounting and auditing issues, stay current on new standards and regulatory changes, and serve as a firm resource on technical matters
- Manage engagement budgets, timelines, billing, and collections to ensure profitability and efficiency
- Engage in firm-wide initiatives, including recruitment, networking events, assisting partners with business development efforts, and preparing proposals
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Master's degree in Accounting
- 5-8 years of progressive audit and assurance experience
- Public accounting experience required
- Prior experience in a managerial role
- Understanding of U.S GAAP and GAAS
- CPA required
- Strong Excel skills
