We’re looking for a committed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to cover locum tenens shifts in a busy Rapid Care clinic in Martinsburg, West Virginia. You’ll see a broad mix of acute illnesses and injuries, work in a fast-paced setting, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to deliver patient-centered care.
What you’ll do
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute medical conditions and injuries
- Perform comprehensive assessments that consider biological, social, and psychological factors
- Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing and results
- Develop and implement treatment plans and provide clear discharge instructions
- Perform procedures within your scope of practice and credentialing
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialists and support services
- Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation
- Contribute to the education of medical, nursing, and advanced practice students when applicable
Nurse Practitioner qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing from a CCNE-accredited program
- National APRN certification (active)
- Licensed or eligible for RN and APRN licensure in West Virginia
- FNP or ACNP certification preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required; PALS encouraged
Physician Assistant qualifications
- Graduate of an ARC-PA or otherwise accredited PA program (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
- NCCPA certification required
- Licensed or eligible for licensure through the West Virginia Board of Medicine or Board of Osteopathic Medicine
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required; PALS encouraged
Experience and skills
- Experience in Acute Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine preferred, but eligible new graduates will be considered
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and procedural skills
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
