We’re looking for a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage in a busy Rapid Care clinic in Martinsburg, West Virginia. You’ll manage a variety of acute illnesses and injuries, work closely with a collaborative clinical team, and play a key role in delivering fast, patient-centered care in a high-volume setting.
What you’ll do
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries across all ages
- Perform thorough patient assessments that consider medical, social, and psychological factors
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic testing (labs, imaging, etc.)
- Create and implement treatment plans, including procedures within your scope and credentialing
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialists and ancillary services
- Provide clear patient education and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Participate in teaching and mentoring medical, nursing, and advanced practice students when applicable
NP qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing from a CCNE-accredited program
- National APRN certification (FNP or ACNP preferred)
- Licensed or eligible for RN and APRN licensure in West Virginia
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required; PALS encouraged
PA qualifications
- Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited Physician Assistant program (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
- NCCPA certification required
- Licensed or eligible for licensure with the West Virginia Board of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required; PALS encouraged
Experience and skills
- Acute care, urgent care, or emergency medicine experience preferred, but eligible new graduates will be considered
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
