Registered Nurse – Wound Care (13-Week Travel Contract)Contract Length: 13 WeeksPosition Summary: The Registered Nurse – Wound Care provides specialized assessment, treatment, and education for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence needs. This role is key in promoting healing and preventing complications through evidence-based practices, patient education, and interdisciplinary coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive wound, ostomy, and continence assessments.Develop and evaluate individualized treatment plans.Document patient progress and adapt interventions accordingly.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.Educate patients and families on wound prevention and home care.Train staff on wound care best practices and equipment use.Monitor and prevent healthcare-associated pressure injuries.Contribute to quality improvement and compliance initiatives.Maintain confidentiality and alignment with hospital policies and standards.Required Qualifications & SkillsMinimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience with wound and ostomy care exposure.Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and communication abilities.Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Skilled in patient and staff education.EducationAssociate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) or higher from an accredited program.Licenses & CertificationsActive Registered Nurse License (State-specific as applicable).AHA BLS Certification (Active).At least one of the following wound care certifications:Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) – WOCNCBCertified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) – WOCNCBCertified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) – WOCNCBCertified Wound Specialist (CWS) – ABWMWound Care Certified (WCC) – NAWCOCore CompetenciesAdvanced wound and ostomy care expertiseClinical documentation and EMR proficiencyCritical thinking and independent decision-makingCollaborative teamwork and leadershipPatient and family educationInfection control and safety adherenceQuality improvement participationContract DetailsType: Travel RNLength: 13 WeeksSchedule: Full-time; shifts may vary based on facility needsTravel: Required as part of assignmentBenefits: Travel nursing benefits may apply (contact recruiter for details)
