Role:

 

The Communications and Dissemination Lead is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication and dissemination strategies that promote program activities, resources, outcomes, and lessons learned. This individual provides leadership for content development, stakeholder communications, conference and event dissemination activities, public-facing materials, and final program reporting. The Communications and Dissemination Lead ensures that communications products are accurate, accessible, engaging, and tailored to the needs of diverse audiences.

 

Duties:

 

The Communications and Dissemination Lead will:

Communications Strategy & Content Development

  • Develop and implement communication and dissemination plans that support program goals and stakeholder engagement.
  • Create, review, and manage a variety of communications products, including newsletters, fact sheets, success stories, reports, web content, presentations, and other outreach materials.
  • Translate complex clinical, technical, and programmatic information into clear, actionable, and audience-appropriate communications.

Dissemination & Stakeholder Outreach

  • Coordinate dissemination of program resources, tools, best practices, and lessons learned through multiple communication channels.
  • Support the development of presentations, abstracts, posters, and related materials for professional conferences, meetings, and stakeholder events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to ensure consistent messaging across all dissemination activities.

Conference & Event Support

  • Lead planning and coordination of national conferences, symposia, webinars, and other stakeholder engagement events.
  • Develop event communications, promotional materials, agendas, and post-event dissemination products.
  • Support the capture and distribution of key findings, recommendations, and outcomes from events and program activities.

Accessibility & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure communications products meet plain language, accessibility, and Section 508 compliance requirements.
  • Maintain editorial and quality review processes for public-facing materials and deliverables.
  • Monitor communication effectiveness and recommend improvements to increase reach, awareness, and stakeholder engagement.

 

Education:

 

  • Master's degree in Communications, Public Health, Health Policy, Journalism, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.

 

Required Experience and Skills:

 

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience developing health communications products, dissemination strategies, or public affairs content for federal health agencies or comparable organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing national virtual or in-person conferences, symposia, or large stakeholder engagement events.
  • Experience developing content that complies with plain language and Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content development skills.
  • Experience managing multiple communication projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Experience supporting federal healthcare programs or federally funded health initiatives.
  • Experience producing communications materials for healthcare providers, community health organizations, or underserved populations.
  • Familiarity with healthcare policy, public health programs, technical assistance initiatives, or healthcare transformation efforts.
  • Experience developing executive-level reports, program summaries, and dissemination products for diverse stakeholder audiences.
  • Experience using digital communication platforms, webinar tools, and virtual event technologies.
  • Knowledge of strategic communications planning, audience analysis, and stakeholder engagement best practices.
