Position Summary - Mid-Level Accounting Assistant
Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of a growing design-focused organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative office environment and wants exposure to a variety of accounting and administrative responsibilities within the architecture and interior design industry.
The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and comfortable handling multiple priorities while supporting leadership, project teams, and outside vendors.
Responsibilities - - Mid-Level Accounting Assistant
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments
- Reconcile credit card statements and bank accounts
- Help track project-related expenses and consultant invoices
- Maintain accurate accounting records and digital files
- Assist with payroll coordination and employee reimbursements
- Support month-end reporting and accounting close activities
- Coordinate with outside accountants, vendors, and internal staff
- Help ensure invoices, contracts, and financial documents are organized and up to date
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the accounting team as needed
Qualifications - - Mid-Level Accounting Assistant
- 3–7 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting assistant experience
- Experience working in a professional services environment preferred (architecture, engineering, construction, design, consulting, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Deltek, Ajera, or similar platforms is a plus
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
