About the role We are looking for a Senior Advisor Agreement Making to support the negotiation, drafting and internal approval of new agreements and commitments with Traditional Owners. You will provide research, analysis and coordination across the agreement-making process, helping ensure materials, records and approvals are accurate, current and progressed to plan. Reporting to the Manager Agreement Making or Principal Agreement Making, you will work closely with heritage, legal, commercial and technical teams to prepare negotiation materials, coordinate specialist input and support respectful engagement with Traditional Owner groups and their advisers. What you’ll be doing Supporting negotiation, drafting and internal approval of Traditional Owner agreements, including preparation of negotiation materials and coordination of subject matter expert input. Developing research and benchmarking analysis to inform agreement terms and negotiation strategy. Analysing past and current agreements to support consistency across the agreement portfolio. Coordinating heritage, legal, commercial and other technical inputs into agreement development. Preparing Traditional Owner engagement and meeting materials for negotiations alongside the Principal and Manager Agreement Making. Maintaining agreement drafts, version control, action trackers, approval documentation and supporting records. Keeping the Agreement Implementation team informed and tracking agreement risk controls and mitigations. Identifying emerging agreement risks and escalating them early and appropriately. Strong research, analysis and drafting support capability. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of heritage, Native Title or another related area. Strategic Stakeholder coordination and influencing skills, with the ability to work across legal, commercial and technical disciplines. Risk awareness and project management capability. Flexibility, autonomy and strong organisational skills. High cultural competency and a respectful approach to engagement with Traditional Owners and their representative organisations. Helpful for Success Experience working with Traditional Owner organisations, agreement negotiation, community partnerships or governance frameworks. Experience in mining, resources, government or another fast-paced complex and highly regulated environment. Experience analysing social and economic impacts, opportunities and risks.
