B2C Email Content Writer (Freelance, Remote)
Our client, a growing eCommerce and brick-and-mortar art retailer, is seeking a freelance B2C Email Content Writer to support an expanding email marketing function during an exciting period of growth following a recent funding round.
This is an opportunity for a writer who can thoughtfully craft conversion-driven, customer-centric email content across a wide range of product categories – from accessible, everyday items to high-end luxury offerings.
Engagement Details
This role will support the development and execution of B2C email campaigns across diverse customer segments and price points. You’ll help shape messaging that resonates with both value-driven customers (e.g., giveaways, lower-priced items, functional products) and a more premium audience engaging with luxury offerings ($15K ).
You’ll play a key role in ensuring email content reflects customer behavior, segmentation strategy, and product context, while contributing to both campaign execution and longer-term lifecycle improvements.
The expected volume is 5–10 emails per week over time, with flexibility to ramp based on your strengths and capacity

Engagement Details
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: 2–3 months to start, with potential to extend
- Hours: 10–15 hours per week
- Location: Fully remote (Detroit-based candidates a plus)
- Schedule: Must be available for a weekly team meeting (Mondays, ET; some flexibility to shift to Tuesdays)
- Equipment: Must provide own computer

Key Responsibilities
- Write clear, engaging, and on-brand B2C email content
- Support the development of email campaigns, newsletters, and promotional sends
- Tailor messaging to different customer segments, price points, and behaviors
- Contribute to and optimize lifecycle and automated email flows
- Help refine underdeveloped or neglected flows (including targeted segments)
- Partner cross-functionally to align messaging with inventory, campaigns, and customer insights
- Leverage performance data and analytics to inform content and strategy
- Proven experience writing B2C email marketing content
- Hands-on experience with Klaviyo
- Ability to interpret and apply email performance data and analytics
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation and targeted messaging
- Ability to quickly learn product assortments and adapt tone accordingly
- Interest in or passion for art, design, music, or creative industries
- Experience working across both accessible and luxury product categories
You’ll collaborate closely with a small, dynamic team during a period of growth and transition, including:
- A Production Manager overseeing site updates, QA/QC, and inventory execution
- A Partner/Founder with deep knowledge of the customer base and brand
- A Website Personalization Manager supporting loyalty, SMS, and UX initiatives
