Job Description
10 Stars Property Management is hiring an experienced Residential Plumbing Maintenance Technician / Plumber-Handyman to join our growing maintenance team.
This is a plumbing-focused property maintenance position responsible for diagnosing and completing common plumbing repairs at occupied and vacant rental homes. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on plumbing experience, can troubleshoot problems independently, and is also comfortable completing general residential maintenance and handyman repairs when needed.
This position is ideal for an experienced plumbing technician, apartment maintenance technician, handyman, or residential maintenance professional who takes pride in quality workmanship and dependable service.
Plumbing Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential plumbing problems
- Repair and replace toilets, faucets, sinks, garbage disposals, and plumbing fixtures
- Repair leaking supply lines, drain lines, shutoff valves, P-traps, and plumbing connections
- Clear clogged sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, and residential drain lines
- Troubleshoot low water pressure, running toilets, slow drains, leaks, and water supply issues
- Repair and replace shower valves, cartridges, tub spouts, and showerheads
- Install and replace kitchen and bathroom plumbing fixtures
- Identify the source of water leaks and recommend the appropriate repair
- Complete minor water heater troubleshooting and repairs within the technician’s experience level
- Inspect plumbing systems during rental property turnovers
- Document repairs with detailed notes, photographs, and material information
- Notify management when a repair requires a licensed plumbing contractor or additional approval
General Maintenance Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance work at occupied and vacant rental properties
- Complete punch-list and rent-ready repairs before new tenants move in
- Diagnose maintenance concerns and recommend cost-effective repair solutions
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Communicate professionally with tenants, property managers, vendors, and team members
- Purchase and track materials when necessary
- Follow company procedures and provide excellent customer service
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of residential plumbing, property maintenance, apartment maintenance, handyman, construction, or renovation experience
- Strong experience diagnosing and completing common residential plumbing repairs
- Knowledge of toilets, faucets, sinks, drains, supply lines, shutoff valves, garbage disposals, and plumbing fixtures
- Ability to troubleshoot leaks, clogs, drainage problems, and water pressure concerns
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple work orders
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must own basic hand and power tools
- Ability to lift, carry, and move tools, materials, fixtures, and equipment
- Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills
- Dependable attendance and professional appearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous property management or apartment maintenance experience
- Residential service plumbing experience
- Experience completing rental property turnovers and rent-ready repairs
- Experience with drain cleaning equipment
- Experience repairing or replacing water heaters
- General knowledge of drywall, painting, carpentry, flooring, and basic electrical repairs
- Plumbing license or plumbing certification is a plus but not required
- Leadership or crew supervision experience is a plus
