Job Description: Zurn Industries, LLC, Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a Lead - Data Engineer. As a critical component of the Zurn - Business Intelligence (BI) team, the Lead Data Engineer will be leading the development of key data sets and designing solutions that solve complex business problems today as well as scale to incorporate additional sources of information to answer future questions in an evolving analytics space. Responsible for designing data solutions that are leveraged in leading enterprise BI technologies to deliver superior analytics to a growing self-service community of analysts throughout the organization. This position will be working with medium to large data sets, interacting with all levels and departments within the Zurn organization, and driving process improvements and automation. Design, model and implement source system data into technical solutions of reporting schemas for self-service analytics. Leverage best practices to design and implement enterprise scalable Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) solutions. Engaging with key business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to build data sets that enhance business insights. Partnering with business leaders and SME to ensure data integrity across reporting efforts. Advocate for and work to ensure data quality. Identify and implement process improvements and automation on the BI team. Hands-on mentorship of junior members of the BI team. Position reports to HQ in Milwaukee, WI but may work remotely. Domestic travel required up to 5% of time for meetings at HQ in Milwaukee, WI once a quarter.
Qualifications: Requires a master's degree in information technology, information technology management, or business, plus 3 years of experience, which must include: 2 years of data design, ETL and architecture implementation; 3 years of experience with database and data structures at an enterprise level; 3 years of experience with database tools such as Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL Database; 3 years designing and implementing ETL solutions. In lieu of a master's degree plus 3 years of experience, will accept a bachelor's degree in information technology, information technology management, or business, plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience, which must include: 4 years of data design, ETL and architecture implementation; 5 years of experience with database and data structures at an enterprise level; 5 years of experience with database tools such as Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL Database; 5 years designing and implementing ETL solutions.
