The Final Quality Control (IPQC3) Inspection Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of production inspectors, ensuring that production delivery and quality metrics are met. The IPQC3 Inspection Manager will focus on employee productivity, quality, safety, and training, typically supervising a team of supervisors, leads, and inspectors.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
•Provide Work Direction to the Extended Team
Communicate overall priorities to the extended team of supervisor and team leads to meet company goals:
o Ship date (day/week/month)
o Quantity of units
o Aged units
o Capacity
o Efficiency
o Quality issues from production and/or vendors
o Safety & 6S
o Lean Tools
o Problem solving tools and Action plan (PDCA).
•Personnel Supervision
o Attendance / OT / PTO Execution
o Training Execution
o Staffing Execution
o Workload Balance
o Compliance with SOPs and work standards
o Performance evaluation and feedback
•Issue Resolution
Resolve/ escalate issues regarding worker problems, complaints, or grievances
o Ability to act as a decision-maker regarding inspection results and
consequent workflow
•Process Improvement / 6S Leadership
Work with Manufacturing teams to identify and execute process/tool improvements:
o Peer Manager(s)
o Manufacturing Engineering / Manufacturing Quality Engineering
o Maintenance Team
o Monitor and maintain KPIs regarding IPQC3-collected data and findings to
make data-driven decisions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
•Ability to prioritize workload and possess excellent multi-tasking skills.
•Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to explain and present technical information and train/advise/lead line inspectors.
•Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
Competencies:
•Possess a prominent level of integrity and strong work ethic
•Ability to lead an inspection team
•Ability to simplify issues/direction and communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of employees.
•Ability to pull information together from numerous sources and consolidate into a plan/direction for the organization.
•Ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Education:
•Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related discipline, and/or equivalent related work experience
Experience:
•3 years of leadership experience in high complexity technology manufacturing environment
•Project management, engineering, quality, high-tech product manufacturing environment
•Lean manufacturing hands on experience
