Job Summary:

A Forklift Driver is responsible for using a forklift, electric pallet jack, hand jack, or similar equipment to move material within the assigned area(s). The movement of raw products, dry goods, or finished goods may be assigned as needed. This position is responsible for following proper procedures for product rotation and flows through the assigned area(s). Responsible for all documents and procedures required for this function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

A Forklift Driver is expected to perform one or more of the following essential job functions based on the business assignment (detailed):

· Responsible party in supporting the food safety culture of the company.

· Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items.

· Transporting materials to different locations within the facility.

· Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.

· Securing loads to the machine before transportation.

· Make the Safety Inspection on electric pallet jacks / Forklifts for operating conditions.

· Compliance with SOP’s, GMPs, Housekeeping, Safety, and all other Company Policies.

· Accurate, timely, and efficient workflow for all assignments.

· Perform all documentation required for the function being performed.

· Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including all dock areas, raw and finished goods spaces.

· Communicate with supervisors, clerks, production, QA, and others as needed.

· GMP and HACCP knowledge & understanding of the Food Safety Quality statement.

· Support inspections with Leads to verify quality, safety, and food safety.

· Employees may be assigned to perform other tasks on a temporary basis.” During the temporary assignment, the employee must still maintain compliance with all plant policies but will not be disciplined for productivity- throughput performance.”

· Responsible for actively supporting the other members of the employee’s work team including assisting with cross-training, new-hire/buddy assignments, and process support during breaks, meal periods, and other staff coverage as needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities / Qualifications:

· Certified in the operation of powered jacks/powered trucks.

· Positive attitude, work ethic and organizational skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management and coworkers.

· Must be able to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions in English and/or Spanish.

· Must be able to work 6 or more consecutive days including overtime, any shift, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

· High school diploma or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
