ZoomInfo Technologies LLC is Hiring a Remote Director of Design

At ZoomInfo, we encourage creativity, value innovation, demand teamwork, expect accountability and cherish results. We value your take charge, take initiative, get stuff done attitude and will help you unlock your growth potential. One great choice can change everything. Thrive with us at ZoomInfo.

As a Director of Design, you are a key leader within the product & design team, tasked with the crucial role of delivering best-in-class experiences for an AI-enabled platform that accelerates GTM. You connect with our customers and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to make sure that our product strategies are informed by a deep understanding of technology trends, artificial intelligence, and customer needs. You are responsible for guiding the design team in implementing scalable design systems, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation, and ensuring design consistency across all customer touchpoints. You will also mentor and develop your team, championing their professional growth and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages risk-taking and creativity.

What you'll Do:

  • Design is undergoing a transformation, and we need to create new playbooks and ways of operating to take advantage of the changes that AI is bringing to the market. You will help put together a modern design practice that is empowered and accelerated with AI.
  • Champion designs from concept through successful market launch, and beyond into continuous refinement and iteration. Ensure designs meet both market needs and technological trends.
  • Craft a compelling vision and roadmap for the design direction, ensuring alignment with broader product and company objectives at every stage.
  • Define critical design metrics, implement tracking mechanisms, analyze data, and convert insights into actionable design improvements.
  • Promote a user-first culture within the design team, setting the standard for empathy and customer-centricity in all design efforts.
  • Inspire and coordinate designers, UX researchers, and visual designers to deliver top-tier user experiences. Act as a pivotal leader and catalyst for innovative design delivery.
  • Ensure clear and persuasive communication of design strategies and updates to stakeholders across the organization, including regular presentations to executive teams.
  • Work alongside product managers and technology teams to incorporate cutting-edge research and technical advancements into design processes. Stay at the forefront of design and tech trends to develop forward-thinking solutions.
  • Establish a standard for utilizing research and insights in the design process, ensuring that data-driven decisions are at the core of product development activities.
  • Deliver insightful and strategic recommendations to senior management, ensuring that design directions are clear, actionable, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Mentor team members in advanced design methodologies and insight generation, fostering professional growth and innovation within the design team.

What you bring:

  • You have immense grit and can thrive when presented with ambiguity. You can tackle problems with no clear or obvious solution, and roll up your sleeves by becoming an expert in what you are trying to solve. You have 10 years of product design management experience, and are comfortable setting a strategy and executing on it.
  • You deeply understand data and customer needs around it. You've built complex data products before and chase the rush of extracting signal from noise and seeing the results work.
  • You're a strong written communicator. You have a proven track record of clearly and effectively conveying complex product concepts and strategies in writing to various audiences.
  • You have a proven track record driving measurable business outcomes in data-focused products. You are skilled at rallying teams around key performance indicators tied to company goals, and adept at connecting daily work to long-term business impact.
  • You have strong product intuition guided by gut feeling, but back up those instincts with hard data.
  • You have shown how design drives a business's bottom line and bring that to ZoomInfo. You build great products to power significant new business opportunities and revenue streams.
  • Your True North is delivering an insanely great experience for every customer. You'll drop everything to jump on Zoom with a customer to capture feedback live. You're reviewing user sessions for hours a week to understand how people use the product. Turning these insights into experience improvements.
  • Design gets you energized. You perk up when you receive Figma files, eager to collaborate with designers on flows and features. You love partnering with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and other cross-functional partners to bring innovative, delightful experiences to life.

What does success look like:

  • You will craft best-in-class user experiences that elevate ZoomInfo's reputation as a leader in AI-enabled design solutions, resulting in users achieving their goals with greater efficiency and satisfaction.
  • Higher user satisfaction will be driven by your ability to understand and integrate customer feedback into every aspect of the design process, developing interfaces that are not only visually appealing but also intuitively usable.
  • Through collaborations with Marketing and GTM teams on user experience positioning, messaging, and educational materials, users will fully grasp the value of our design innovations and how to leverage them effectively.
  • Engineering and Product Management teams will regard you as an indispensable partner, relying on your expertise to navigate user experience challenges, define detailed design requirements, and establish metrics that monitor the impact and quality of our design implementations.
  • Customers, prospects, and the broader industry will recognize you as a visionary leader and trusted advisor, turning to you for insights on how cutting-edge design can enhance their engagement with technology and drive business success.

How we work:

  • Be Relentless. We will be relentless: when we deliver value to clients; when we compete; when we run into difficult problems. We will outpace and outcompete our competition. We are smart, clever, and resourceful in everything we do. Competing with us for the same customers will be a daunting experience.
  • Be Entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs hustle, move fast, take ownership, they have autonomy, and make decisions. They are accountable, but they do not operate in fear, they aren't afraid to fail. They are resilient, resourceful, and solutions-oriented - even when conditions say otherwise. We will entrust, and expect, our leadership and our teams to operate as entrepreneurs.
  • Be Experts. Winning for our customers requires that we understand them deeply. Winning for our business requires us to be experts in our domain areas. Great companies solve complex and costly problems for their customers - you can't do this without being an expert in your customers' day to day workflow. We will demand this level of customer and business expertise from everyone at the company.
  • Be Innovators. Innovating is who we are, it is how we have gotten here. But not just with our product and how we define what GTM means for the future. We innovate to be leaner and more efficient in the way we operate, we will find ways to drive outcomes no one thought were possible - from marketing and lead generation to legal, finance, and procurement. Through innovation, we will set a new standard for how great companies operate with discipline.
  • Be a Team. We can't win if we act like a random assortment of siloed groups. We are one team, working together to win. We collaborate and lean in to help each other.
