ZOOM GROUP, INC is Hiring a Site Coordinator DSP Day Training Near Louisville, KY

Summary: To promote choice, independence and personal growth through person centered services that encourage the development of rewarding relationships, community connections, broadening communication skills, building on self-reliance by increasing life skills and self-advocacy awareness for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Other related duties may be assigned.

  • Provide regularly scheduled activities that are designed to foster the acquisition of skills, build positive social behavior and interpersonal competence, and foster greater independence and personal choice.
  • Provide opportunities for community connections through; volunteering, memberships, art, music, theater, health and wellness, hobbies, continuing education or support retirement and/or senior activities which include altering schedules to accommodate more rest time throughout day.
  • Training and supports designed to maintain skills and functioning rather than acquiring new skills or improving existing if applicable to retirement activities.
  • Complete and maintain all required Medicaid, DDID and Zoom Group required documentation which includes but are not limited to; incident reports, daily attendance and individual goal/objective progression through daily contact notes and monthly summaries; as well as medication tracking on MAR’s.
  • Career planning or pre-vocational activities to develop experiential learning opportunities and career options consistent with the team member’s skills and personal interests.
  • Provide physical care and assistance in performing daily life activities (i.e. assist with toilet transfers and food preparation/meals if needed.
  • General housekeeping; provide daily maintenance and weekly cleaning of restrooms and kitchen; and keep supplies organized.

Competencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:

Modeling/Teaching- The ability to demonstrate and provide person centered instruction to the people supported in a manner that is conducive to the individual’s communication and learning style.

Interpersonal Skills- Manages difficult or emotional situations and understands the importance of de-escalating situations to avoid a potential crisis. Responds promptly and appropriately to the needs of each individual supported.

Flexibility– The ability and patience to positively react to change and adapt to circumstances.

Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; participates in meetings. Writes clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written information.

Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; seeks additional resources; sets goals and objectives; organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; develops realistic action plans.

Training – All DDID and Zoom Group training requirements.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one year’s experience in a related field. Equivalent combination of education, training, skills and experience may be considered.

Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals and effectively present information and respond to questions from team members, supervisors, and person centered team and the general public.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate basic figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Reasoning Skills – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Licenses/Certifications – Requires maintaining a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, CPR Certified/Adult First Aid, AED; Crisis Prevention; Medication Administration.

Computer Skills – Requires knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and the ability to utilize email and internet browsers; enter daily notes and monthly summaries in THERAP Software as well as locating member information in THERAP.
