Job Summary
We are looking for a Hospital System Specialist to join our team in a Revenue Cycle Management company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for data collection, and a strong desire to learn about the healthcare industry/revenue cycle management. The Hospital System Specialist will be responsible for navigating hospital registration systems, such as EPIC, or Cerner to gather insurance and demographic information of patients for medical billing.
Essential Functions

• Thoroughly review hospital registration systems (EPIC, Cerner, etc.) to accurately gather insurance and demographic information of patients transported by ambulance, ensuring completeness and correctness for medical billing.
• Collaborate with relevant parties to acquire any missing or incomplete insurance or demographic data necessary for billing purposes.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of insurance and demographic information, identifying any discrepancies and rectifying inconsistencies to ensure billing accuracy.
• Utilize specialized software and database tools proficiently to efficiently retrieve and verify patient insurance and demographic details from hospital systems.
• Adhere strictly to healthcare regulations and guidelines while handling sensitive patient information during the billing process.
• Document verified insurance and demographic data into the RCM billing system(s).
• Use investigative tools to reconcile patient information and avoid possible security incidents.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred).
• At least 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry or RCM field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Previous experience working in EPIC, Cerner, or any other hospital registration system a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office and hospital systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
