ZMicro is Hiring a Document Control/Product Lifecycle Specialist (DC/PLS) Near San Diego, CA

You will support the team in the development of new solutions and exciting technologies directly supporting the U.S. Military. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Administer ZMicro’s PLM system (Omnify). This includes:
– Performing all Administrator duties.
– Interfacing with Omnify technical support to resolve problems and implement customizations; etc.
– Maintaining PLM system updates.
– Maintaining the accuracy of the database and updating as needed.
– Answering user’s questions about Omnify and solving issues as they arise.

Manage the ZMicro Engineering Change process. This requires:
– In intimate knowledge of the Engineering Change (EC) process, its workflow and requirements.
– The ability to analyze EC Requests and interface with the originator to resolve any discrepancies.
– Data entry to capture the details of the EC in the PLM system.
– Monitoring of the EC through the entire workflow process.
– Interaction with EC signers to ensure timely completion.
– Adding the correct documents to Omnify and other locations and managing obsolete documents properly and accurately.

Host Change Control Board (CCB) weekly meetings. This requires:
– Publishing the agenda as required by the CCB members.
– Working as a liaison between departments to complete the action items.
– Maintain records.
– Create, maintain, and update Engineering Department and Corporate training plans and Matrices.
– Maintain the lifecycle of products and update the database as needed.
– Assign, report and update training for the Engineering department on a quarterly basis, and new hire training as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS or BA).
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written (English) communication skills. Ability to communicate technical issues with individuals and groups quickly and effectively.
  • Experience: 3 years in direct Product Lifecycle Management environment.
  • Problem resolution: the ability to resolve differences of opinion and reach mutual agreement while working within the confines of system requirements.
  • Outstanding attention to detail: accuracy is paramount.
  • Ability to work and produce with minimal supervision in a very fast-paced environment.
