The Paralegal for our busy Workers' Comp law practice at our Glen Burnie office. The paralegal will be responsible for effectively maintaining client files assigned to him/her. This will require speaking with clients, insurance companies, healthcare providers, and other parties involved in the client's case. The Paralegal will work directly with the attorney to efficiently resolve cases. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are required to perform these functions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Maintaining frequent contact with clients and assisting clients in advancing their claims.

- Obtaining relevant documentation from various parties related to the case.

- Processing claims paperwork.

- Keeping accurate records of all work and organizing within client's file.

- Timely addressing any issues.

- Draft, compile and organize evidence for workers' compensation hearings and court proceedings.

- Assist with discovery to help the attorney identify, locate and analyze evidence.

- Prepare exhibits for hearings by compiling, reviewing and analyzing medical, vocational, and other relevant records.

- Answer office phones and assist with general office work.

Qualifications:

- Must be available to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), and Internet browsers (Explorer, Chrome, Firefox).

- Ideal candidate will have excellent telephone skills and strong interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure and present a positive, professional image with colleagues, professional staff, and vendors.

- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Experience:

- Workers' Compensation law office experience required.

- Computer literate and able to learn software utilized by the firm.

Experience researching case law.
