Job Title: Document Processing Architect

Location: Hybrid (Chicago/Springfield)

Job Type: Full-time/Contract

Summary:

We are seeking a Document Processing Architect to lead the architecture and design of document processing systems for our customer - DoIT (Department of Innovation & Technology). This role focuses on enhancing existing capabilities in OCR (Optical Character Recognition), document automation, and DocAI technologies. You will design and implement solutions that automate the extraction, processing, and management of information from various document types, improving efficiency and accuracy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement advanced document processing solutions using OCR, AI/ML technologies, and document automation tools.
  • Develop strategies for integrating DocAI technologies into existing systems to enhance document workflow and data extraction.
  • Evaluate and improve the accuracy and efficiency of current document processing workflows.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions that align with business goals.
  • Lead projects to pilot and scale new technologies in document processing and automation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology developments in AI, machine learning, and document processing fields.
  • Prepare technical and user documentation for system configurations and workflows.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership to technical teams during the deployment and maintenance phases.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of the effectiveness of document processing systems and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in designing and implementing document processing and automation solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of OCR technologies, document automation tools, and AI/ML-based document analysis.
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in Python, Java, or related languages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in AI/ML or cloud computing platforms.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance issues related to document processing in specific industries (e.g., healthcare, finance).
