Title: REHABILITATION TECHNICIAN

Reports to: Operations Manager

Supervises: None

Responsibilities:

1. Facilitates participant's daily activities in accordance with their current level of treatment
2. Transports participants to and from necessary appointments
3. Observes and monitors participants behavior and intervenes based on schedule, individual participant's treatment plan and facility needs
4. Writes shift report in Lightning Step, including summary of the shift events and shift change
5. Orients oneself upon starting a shift by thoroughly reading all communications since previous shift
6. Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings
7. Provides transportation to and supervision of participants at community 12-step meetings per program schedule
8. Ensures transportation safety by conducting vehicle inspections and following safety rules
9. Ensures physical safety and security by conducting regular facility checks
10. Ensures the facility is aesthetically appropriate, including but not limited to trash removal, dish washing, staging of units, etc.
11. Orients new participants to facility rules
12. Conducts admit to facility with new participants, including proper completion of our documentation in accordance with our policies and procedures, search of items brought to facility and lock-up of contraband and medications
13. Follows emergency procedures exactly (including following paging protocol, following directives given exactly, transportation, etc.)
14. Assists with clients leaving against treatment advice by engaging participant in a discussion and immediately notifying Operations Management whenever a participant talks about leaving the program
15. Conducts UA drug screen collection and breathalyzes when directed, following appropriate procedures
16. Other duties as described in the Tech Checklist and/or as assigned by Operations Management
17. Supervises self-administration of participant medications in accordance with our medical protocol (only after provided with appropriate training)

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

1. 1 year experience with 12-step programs
2. Must have 1 year sobriety if in recovery
3. Must have strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
4. Previous industry experience desired

Work Environment:

The work environment is a substance abuse treatment AND mental health milieu. The individual will be exposed to varying indoor and outdoor conditions as part of the facility set up and need of the participant.
