The IT Infrastructure Manager is a leader in the Technology department and is responsible for analyzing, directing, and ensuring continuity of core organization-wide information systems and services. Position drives the design, configuration, automation, and deployment of systems across the firm, while adopting technology aggressively to keep ZGF at the leading edge of technology.

As an IT Infrastructure Manager, you will…

• Focus on innovation and thinking outside the box to solve problems, while considering potential impact to people, processes, and technology
• Guide and mentor the professional technical staff maintaining core firm-wide technology services; Serve as point of escalation for customers and team members troubleshooting issues
• Contributes to developing an IT plan aligned with ZGF’s goals and strategic objectives; Plan and execute projects to support ZGF’s mission and projects
• Manage and direct the team’s activities in providing support for all infrastructure systems including storage, communications, servers, security, disaster recovery, and network environment
• Assign and coordinate team objectives and resolve critical technical and procedural issues
• Provide leadership in the planning, timing, and coordination of projects that extend over long periods of time and span multiple areas of expertise
• Provide direction regarding new technology and security advances as they apply to ZGF’s design practice
• Responsible for the daily operations of and upgrades to all core technology including Active Directory, storage, virtualization, server hardware/software, Microsoft 365 and cloud applications, Azure AD / Entra ID, communication systems, PKI, SAML/IDP, security systems, networking systems
• Responsible for data center design and operations
• Maintain high quality of service by developing and implementing firmwide system standards and procedures
• Research and develop process automation
• Develop and implement firmwide IT policy and best practices
• Directs technology research by studying organization goals, strategies, and practices
• Manage portion of Technology budget allocated for IT Infrastructure
• Perform human resources management for team members
• Identify opportunities for team training and skills advancement
• Perform technical research and development to enable continuing innovation
• Document procedures, systems, and changes to systems
• Provide back-up support to Desktop Support Specialists and Infrastructure Administrators
• On-call availability after hours and on weekends

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of server architecture, Microsoft cloud, Active Directory, data networking, virtualization, security, storage systems, and related information systems
• Extensive experience with detailed aspects of server hardware, operating systems, virtualization, storage systems, security, Active Directory, and Group Policy
• 7-10 years’ experience supporting technology in a professional services firm (AEC preferred)
• 3-5 years’ supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of advanced security concepts
• Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy
• Ability to communicate effectively and accurately in writing
• High level of attention to detail
• Demonstrated initiative, motivation, think strategically
• Advanced scripted automation experience using tools such as PowerShell
• Ability to develop positive relationships with design staff, excellent interpersonal skills
• Organize and prioritize multiple simultaneous and ongoing tasks
• Understanding of the application of technology to professional services processes
• Experience executing and managing large-scale technology projects from start to finis
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related relevant experience

Base Salary Range

143,000/yr - $158,000/yr
