ZGF is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our team in the Washington, D.C. office. We are looking for creative, motivated, and curious design talent with a desire to grow in a collaborative, team-oriented, and multidisciplinary environment. We are offering a position for an individual who will work closely with the Marketing Group under the direction of experienced professional staff on a diversity of project opportunities. The current hourly rate for all interns at ZGF is $25.00/hour.

Please note, we are currently on a hybrid schedule working both in-office and remote as needed; this is not a fully remote position.

As a Graphic Design Intern, you will…

• Be part of a community focused on design excellence and innovation.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop multi-component design projects for marketing collateral, corporate identity systems, print and digital media, environmental graphics programs, and consumer experience environments.
• Collaboratively design and produce graphics associated with the local office and firmwide marketing and communications efforts, including qualifications, proposals, diagrams, infographics, social media content, presentations, and templates.
• Assist in the development of environmental graphics, including visioning, design, and artwork.
• Update and maintain graphic assets for ZGF projects.
• Work in a fast-paced environment to generate a range of creative concepts prior to developing detailed and final solutions.
• Deepen your fundamentals and skills working on a spectrum of projects throughout the internship.

Qualifications:

• Professional experience is beneficial but not required. Creative curiosity is required.
• Background in the architectural field or environmental graphic design is a plus.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and PowerPoint would be valuable.
• Ability to integrate type, color, and graphics.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to be organized, focused, meticulous, and thorough, with a high attention to detail.
• Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills are desired.
• Interest in evolving technology, media, printing, and production techniques.
• Consistent pursuit of innovation in order to raise the bar. 
• Ability to work on a PC platform.
